Mental Health PractitionerHarborview Medical Center's Mental Health and Addiction Services Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner.Work Schedule:Per-DiemDay ShiftPosition Highlights:Promote community stability by securing housing, benefits and culturally relevant treatment to meet the needs of those servedAssist clients in developing meaningful and productive life rolesPrimary Job Responsibilities:Provide initial screenings and psychiatric diagnostic evaluations for new clients seeking servicesProvide mental health case management and counseling/therapy services for an assigned caseload of clientsAs part of a multidisciplinary treatment team with patients and their social networks to assist in their recovery from mental illnessAssess patient needs and determine interventionsMay assist clients obtain housing and funding as necessary to prevent inappropriate use of crisis servicesFacilitate diversion from voluntary and involuntary psychiatric hospitalization when clinically appropriateParticipate in case reviewsDocument patient contact in the medical recordDevelop and implement patient care plansEngage in triage servicesRequirements:A Master's Degree in behavioral sciences, such as psychology, psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, vocational or educational counseling, or social work OR Bachelor's Degree in nursing or a behavioral science AND three years' of experience in the direct delivery of professional mental health care.Licensed by the State of Washington as an Independent Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist or Mental Health Counselor.Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.About Harborview Medical Center:As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
